Hi Platt,

If you see nudity closely associated with the sexual act, then I 
suspect you've been socialized to see it that way.  During the 
Victorian period, to see a woman's ankles was thought to promote 
sexual associations.  I was thinking more of Meet The Press, with Tim 
Russet interviewing Dick Cheney.  Both sitting there in their 
birthday suit.  Hahahahaha    Hardly a sexual image, and might even 
do a lot to promote reading.

I thought Saving Private Ryan was an important anti-war film, but I 
don't think it appropriate for television.  It's the constant 
violence that sets up patterns of violence.  Nudity constantly placed 
within a sexual context promotes sexual patterns.  I'm sure you know 
what I'm suggesting, a little sense of responsibility to civic life 
rather than the abandonment of principles for the profit margin.
