Dear Listers, I would like to know, if there is anybody out there working with (or has done anything with) ornamentation, like sculpture of shells or colour pattern of organisms. Is it possible to quantify different types of ornamentation and compare them among one another, to understand changes of ornamentation during the growth process of an organism, for example? I'm not sure whether the software available at Stony Brook can help, because most programs need landmark data and the type of ornamentation I'm working with, give non-landmark data. Any help is appreciated.
