You could make a start by looking at the examples discussed in

(Second Edition), Academic Press, Oxford

 An essential reference is the book edited by Th. Cacoullos (1973) entitled
NATO Symposium on Discriminant Functions (Athens 1972).  In essence, this volume
covers the entire field in detail.
