Camera Distortion

Hi,
I just started collecting some data
for 2DGM. I am trying to check if the images I have taken already are
significantly affected by distortion from the camera lens. I found in Zelditch
et al. that I need to digitize regular points along the grid paper I laid
under my specimens in order to check if the effect of the lens is appreciable.
My issue is knowing what would be considered 'appreciable' and how to quantify
the effect.
