It's probably time for me to chime in on the current thread ... the best visualization testbed I know of for 3D TPS is the grid module of Bill Green's computer package Edgewarp for 3D digitizing and navigation. There's a copy of version 3.19 with manual on my website ftp://brainmap.med.umich.edu/pub, and we're already up to version 3.26, but the manual hasn't been updated yet.
