Isn't that what METACOGNITION is really all about? I think if a teacher is
having trouble being aware of what he/she is doing while reading, it might
be good to go back and reread Mosaic of Thought. That book, above all
others, made me aware of what metacognition really means because the two
authors both modeled it and offered it to us as readers to do the same. The
book discussion group we had for Mosaic at my school two years ago had the
same effect on all the participants. I realize some teachers might have just
Plunged into the strategies through Strategies That Work or Reading with
Meaning or any of the wonderful books we all use, but Mosaic is the one that
Makes YOU aware of what you are doing as you read.

Does anyone know when the updated version of Mosaic of Thought is coming
out?

That said, I think Bill's suggestions are great!
