If you are talking about the F & P Phonics Lessons, they are very good. They do require some organization on your part though, unless they've changed the format in the past 2 years. I would suggest Word Journey, by Kathy Ganske, with the companion book that has the lessons already in order by the developmental stages, or Words Their Way by Donald Bear and Shane Templeton and their Word Sorts books. I've used the WTW Sorting books and they are very teacher friendly. Your first graders would most likely be in the letter name stage, but you would know each child's developmental spelling stage after administering the DSA. There are MANY resources to support your Word Study block on line. Carl's Corner has a plethera of materials you can print for free:) Kelli

I would like to purchase the bundle that includes the CD with the ability to customize materials---- The cost is 140.00--- Thanks for the input. Are these materials something that would complement the MOT strategies--- I teach first grade and I must build a strong foundation of vocabulary and how words work for English language learning. Thanks, Olga _______________________________________________ Mosaic mailing list [email protected] To unsubscribe or modify your membership please go to http://literacyworkshop.org/mailman/options/mosaic_literacyworkshop.org.
