It was my understanding that Fast Track was an intervention program for older readers (fourth through eighth grade). Unless they have developed a program component for younger readers, I would hesitate to use program materials designed for fourth graders with pre- kindergarten children. What the principal should be recommending is for parents to simply read, and discuss quality picture books with their children.
