I have found Rigby to be an excellent guided reading source and their new "Literacy by Design" series has modeled, shared, interactive, and guided reading components as well as a writing component. I have seen samples of the program at a conference and was quite pleased with their visuals (charts, posters, graphic organizers, and blackline masters, etc) for each of the reading strategies. We're having a sample set shipped to our school to examine it in depth, but my first impression was, "Wow!" You can check it out by copying and pasting in this address in your Internet browser: http://rigby.harcourtachieve.com/en-US/literacydesign_home Anyone have first-hand experience with this new program?
