Hey all,

I think Jerry Spinelli's Milkweed is a great novel for Holocaust-themed
study/ WWII. It's a layered book that is a bit of a departure from Spinelli's
usual fare---and that can lead to great discussions about how and why his style

is different in this book.

Also Bud, Not Buddy is a great Depression era novel (if that hasn't been
mentioned already.

Since we cover post-Civil War domestic history in my district, two of my
favorites are Out of the Dust (1930's) and Witness ('50's-'60's) by Karen
Hesse.

I wonder if someone has a bibliography of historical fiction by time period.
Perhaps adding that to the TOOLS page might be helpful? It seems like a lot
of us are interested.
