We recently had a parent information night on MOT strategies.  The question 
came up many times in the Grades 3-6 groups "How do you help with inferring at 
home when they are reading chapter books?"  Teachers suggested reading a 
chapter alternately with the child so that they could get an understanding of 
the book, asking the child to retell the story so the parent can get an insight 
into it, also the importance of sharing a good picture story book with them on 
a regular basis too. Any other suggestions?
