Don't be embarrassed. I have really enjoyed reading what you have to say. You have obviously done your homework. I just rejoined this e-mail group after a year's break and I feel the same frustration as many of you on this list. The words "the research states" have been misused and it leaves caring, thoughtful teachers confused and unsure of what to do. I agree with the balanced approach and knowing that no matter what your plan of attack is that it may or may not work for every student in your class. That's why a teacher's "toolbox" has to be deep and varied. Angie
