There’s been some discussion on the MOT2 listserv about assessment.  Later
in Chapter 5 of MOT2, Ellin describes using the “Major Point Interview for
Readers" as a means of gathering baseline data (pg 124).  Doing a little
searching, I see that we have this resource readily available in two
locations.  Number one, for free, you can download just the "interview" on
the readinglady website: http://estore.seppub.com/estore/product/10404 It
comes complete with sample questions for each strategy as well as a rubric
for scoring the responses.  Also, Ellin herself has written a book called
"Assessing Comprehension Thinking Strategies" and you can download sample
pages of this book at the publisher's website:

Certainly the rubrics that come with these resources could be translated
into grades, I would think??
