No, but there are developmental stages and behavior you would expect from 
children of a certain age. For example, you wouldn't expect an 8 year old to 
fling himself on the floor, kicking and screaming because you asked everyone to 
come sit in a circle for morning meeting. You also wouldn't expect an 8 year 
old to cry when the girls in the class made friendship bracelets for the girls, 
but not the boys. You wouldn't expect an 8 year old to scream "I hate cheese" 
in the middle of lunch, then proceed to stomp it into the carpet. You wouldn't 
expect an 8 year old to cry for his mom everyday for the first week of school. 
   
  I had all these things happen in my classroom, and they were unprovoked. No 
one said or did anything to this child that would elicit such outbursts.
