Today my students finished mapping their texts, and began the process of
turning it into a script. To my surprise my group with the least abilities were
able to reconstruct the events of the story, and even some dialog! I think that
rereading the text over and over while searching for characters, dialog,
events, etc. is what enabled this ability. Normally I hear complaints about
rereading, but not this week! Authentic tasks are powerful tools!
