Hi everyone I have a couple of students who seem to be struggling still with comprehension but understand and use the strategies pretty well. What I believe is going on is a lack of vocabulary knowledge. I started using the lessons in Nancy Akhavan's (sp???) book that somebody on this list recommended over the summer and love it...but I am struggling with assessing student vocabulary growth in order to know if the lessons are working. Any one have some rubrics or other ideas for assessing vocab growth? Send to me off list so we can stay on topic... Thanks Jennifer
