We are using a couple of different things at 5-8th with our special ed kids. They are not exactly "programs" but are making a difference. One is the Stephanie Harvey Comprehension Toolkit from Heinemann. (Check it out at:
http://www.comprehensiontoolkit.com/ The other is the National Geographic Nonfiction Reading and Writing Workshop. http://www.ngschoolpub.org/c/@porBpWAJntYf6/Pages/WKSHP.web Your regional representative will most likely come show you the kit and bring lots of freebies. At least ours did. Both of these are worth looking into.
