I am not sure what the research would show. On a personal level there has been nothing more rewarding than looping with a class. I am a k/1 teacher who loops her kids. You know the students, the students know you, and the rituals and routines are established. There isn't any wasted time. It is very rewarding to see the growth you give them after two years. Debbie
