My district used the MAP test for the first time this year. I can't say I was
impressed by it. The test is completed on the computer so many of the
reading strategies the kids are taught goes right out the window when they
can't
highlight or make margin notes on the test. Supposedly the test does not allow
the kids to randomly guess at answers, it will shut down if they start randomly
guessing. We had students do this and the test never shut down on them. I
also found the scores to be inflated and the information not very useful.
