Hi! My name is Danielle. I've just started graduate school to become certified up to 2nd grade in the NY and CT area. I currently teach at the pre-school level and have for 5 years. I know how to teach pre-literacy but I have never taught early literacy. I hope in the near future to teach in the public schools and I am willing to teach any K-2 class. However, I would prefer a Kindergarten class. When I get a job as a Kindergarten teacher, where do I start with them? How do I assess what they already know and where do I go from there? Any basic help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Danielle
