I don't think this sounds anal at all; it is the foundation of good training. 
So much mention has been made of the Daily 5...in the very beginning when they 
compare their early teaching to now, the very first thing is "teaching and 
learning new behaviors."   During their first years they say, "We would mention 
behaviors once and expect students to know how to do them."  Now they say, "We 
teach and practice skills until behaviors become habits and 'default' 
behaviors."  This is exactly what Ginger is describing.
