Hi,
I really had good results using the "What, Why, How" organizer from Steve Peha
when I was teaching 4th. That organizer really helped me teach the thinking
behind a persuasive argument. Steve gives great examples of how it can be used
across the curriculum as well, and you can download his stuff for free at
www.ttms.org (The site is called Teaching That Makes Sense). I highly
recommend downloading the entire Writing Teacher Strategy Guide.
