Maybe my example can help. One of my students is not recognizing how words fall into place in a meaningful way. When repeating the sentence, "The bad dog did not behave" the child counts behave as two words. "Be hayve" does not have meaning the way that behave does. I'm looking forward to other replies so that I can gauge whether I am on the right track with this.
