You might look at ways to make a book on the internet--with a cloth or 
paper-covered cover, they can look pretty slick.  That said,  I worry that we 
become too concerned or worried about kids' work that looks like...kids' work.  
Shelley Harwayne talks about how we can expect kids do big things in writing in 
childlike ways.  What you describe to me--laminating and binding--sounds 
entirely appropriate.
