The Wreck of the Ethie by Hillary Hyland is a great one! It is based on
the true story of a shipwreck and rescue (everyone survived) of the
"Ethie." It wrecked off the coast of Newfoundland on December 11, 1919.
There is a part in Chapter 12 that should be pre-read by the teacher for
adjustments to the read aloud if the teacher feels it's too dramatic for
little ones to hear. I used it with 1st graders and was able to do a
bunch of cross-curricular tie-ins. Good Luck!

Subject: [MOSAIC] book suggestions

Does anyone have any inspirational books they can recommend reading to
elementary students?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
