Ruby, 

 

I am also a newly assigned coach and face the opposite problem.  The teachers 
have students use all of the strategies, but have no knowledge of the skills.   
I really think it is a fine balance of both that is necessary.  I say to myself 
"If they could just see how much the students would benefit from this, they'd 
get it!"  

 

I am stuck as to how to approach this as well, so if anyone has any suggestions 
or texts that clearly spell out the importance of both skills and strategies to 
teachers, I would really appreciate it.  I could benefit from words of 
experience.
