One thing to keep in mind...what you say and what you do matters. Watch your language very carefully. Don't say things like "You have to get your reading work done first before you go outside." Using the word work gives it a negative connotation. Model your own enthusiasm for books....use literature that they will love...(Find out what the kids are passionate about and then find reading materials to suit them.)
