Go to www.nflonline.org and look at Public Forum Debate. There are free
resources for teachers. Public Forum is the easiest form of debate to do in
class. It is also a partner debate. I would have the students research both
sides of the topic and then on the day of debate flip a coin and have that
decide which team debates which side and which team speaks first. If you have
any questions, or cannot find the proper resources just let me know. I have a
bunch of items.

Take care,

Tracy

I'm teaching a 7th grade advanced literate class. We are going to be
reading *The House of the Scorpion*. I need some help thinking about the
final project for the book. I'm thinking holding a debate although I've
never facilitated one before and I'm unsure how to go about guiding the
students.

Just looking for suggestions/resources for getting them started.

Thanks.
