I would think the book would lend itself to students having to create a problem
based assignment for next year's students. The students could pick any of the
issues raised in the book, translate those to real life scenarios and create a
problem that needs to be solved during the reading process next year. If they
need help they could Google PBL and see the components needed to complete this
assignment.

Subject: [MOSAIC] debates

I'm teaching a 7th grade advanced literate class. We are going to be
reading *The House of the Scorpion*. I need some help thinking about the
final project for the book. I'm thinking holding a debate although I've
never facilitated one before and I'm unsure how to go about guiding the
students.

Just looking for suggestions/resources for getting them started.

Thanks.
