I believe it was the "see and say" method. Wasn't that the Dick and Jane books? I was in 1st grade in 1959-60 and remember using the Dick and Jane books. My mom bought phonics workbooks for me at a local 5 & dime store. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]>
