I am not familiar with that program, but we just purchased Literacy materials
from Developmental Studies Center that is all based on the strategies and the
workshop model...in the lower graded it is only a few days a week to allow for
a skills based program to be used as well...I really love it, it includes all
the mentor text and also teaches social skills...you should see if they would
pilot that program as well. Franklin School District in the southern part of
the state just purchased it as well and they did a lot of research and piloted
several programs.
Hope this helps somehow. I would really recommend it...everything that is
stressed in MOT is pretty much in this program and it really aligns well with
the Common Core...

Subject: [MOSAIC] SuperKids

Is amyone familiar with the SuperKids program made by the Rowland
Foundation? Our district is piloting it in K-2 for reading. It seems to
be a very skills-based program that doesn't place a lot of emphasis on
self-selected program

I teach 4th grade and we are already concerned about the great
word-callers that we have with poor comprehenders. Not sure this program
will prepare our kids for what they really need
Also, I wonder how it aligns to the Common Core..

Thanks.
