Also if you can get them to order online you get a free book per parent who
orders online AND they get a free book. Check to see if warehouse in your area.
They have warehouse sales 2 times a year at christmas and in spring.

Meghan,
I don't have a list but I do have a suggestion if you use scholastic's book
club
and let children order books. (a little bit of work but worth it) you can get
free books and book points as they order and then you can use these to order
books for your class.  Laura Candler has a letter that you can adopt.
Sample Parent Letter for Lucky 2011 (MS Word format to modify)  This helps
parents learn to buy books for their children as gifts and supplies, I would
always chose one book we read as a class (one that was on sale) and I would ask
all parents to buy the books so everyone has their own copy. Many of my parents
did not have a lot of money but Scholastic always has a least one book for a
dollar or less.  It really helped.  I made a big deal out of passing the books
out.  If I saw that a parent was not every buying anything I used my free book
bonus to buy the child a book.  No one every asked how they got it they just
loved having me call out their name.
