Hello everyone,

I am the founder of the Worldwide Lexicon project, an open source translation memory that combines machine and human translations from a variety of sources, and can be used as a web service to make sites translatable.

We are about to begin beta testing a social translation tool for Firefox. This addon, once installed, auto-senses when you are reading a page that is in a foreign language (for you), and if so, tries to translate it, first looking for human translations submitted by other users, and then using machine translations.

We currently use Google and Apertium for machine translation, and would like to add Moses translators to the mix. If you operate or know of a publicly accessible Moses server, please email me at [email protected] if you would like to make it accessible to WWL based tools. If you would like to beta test the add on, send me an email. It will be ready for public testing in about a week. (We also plan to release similar tools for Safari and IE).
