Thanks, Barry. Is just this the first time I've looked into the 
 scripts' internals for about a year. Back then, they were under revision 
 and "--threads" was commented out.

 Can you explain the parenthetical "(must be compiled in)" in both mert 
 scripts?

 By the way, everyone. If you're not using experiment.perl, both mert 
 scripts accept the argument:

   --decoder-flags "-threads 4"

 It passes the multithreading argument to the decoder's command line.
