Hi all,
sorry if this has been already asked, but I could not find a clear answer.
I am using the debian package of motion that comes with raspbian (the debian
bistro for the raspberry Pi). The version of motion is labelled as: Motion
3.2.12+git20140228
And when it starts with the default configuration file, I get:

conf_cmdparse: Unknown config option ?sdl_threadnr"

It looks like whoever made the package screwed up something in terms of
versions. The motion website states that some options have changed, but it does
not say when they changed and where I can find the correct options for which
version.
Any idea?

Is it possible that you had an old config file on the machine before
you installed or upgraded?

Colin

Hi Colin,
no I do not think so.
I explicitly removed /etc/motion, then purged and reinstalled. and the problem
remains.

Where can I get the list of options supported by each version?

You have compiled motion without SDL support, but your config still
contains sdl related params. Either recompile with SDL support or remove
those lines

Fedora 23

extpipe x264 - --input-res 640x480 --fps %fps --bitrate 500 --preset
ultrafast --quiet -o %f.avi

works, but I have not been able to get x264 to work with %f.mp4. If
somebody could point me in the right direction of what I'm doing wrong or
how to compile x264 to create an mp4.
