All,

Is there anywhere a quick setup guide to install a raspberry PI with a PI cam
and motion. I followed this one:
https://github.com/ccrisan/motioneye/wiki/Install-On-Raspbian using
https://github.com/Motion-Project/motion/releases/download/release-4.0.1/pi_jessie_motion_4.0.1-1_armhf.deb

But I get a black screen and an indication that there is no image.

If I understand correctly this should have mmal support in there so it is
supposed to work, but maybe the guide is not very consistent with this release
because it talks about another release,

Thanks for looking into this,

Great work!!

Herwig

I do not know about motioneye. The following was tested and validated
with Raspbian Jessie and Motion 4.0

sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Enable camera via raspi-config, reboot.

Install motion via deb. (I used gdebi)

Rename motion-dist.conf to motion.conf

Open motion.conf and uncomment the two options that begin with mmal.

Enjoy....

If the camera doesn't work, validate it is connected correctly and
functional with applications like raspivid.

Hello,

i use simple the deb file for the rpi3 and noir cam v2.
my resolution is 1632x1232, but i don't know where i get this resolution.
But all test with resolution from the cam documentation result in a black
screen.
Tomorrow i can post my motion.conf.

regards
