Hey,

I am trying to save my movies that are created when motion is detected. But
then this Error comes up..

[1:ml1] [ERR] [ENC] ffmpeg_get_oformat: The frame rate specified is too high
for the ffmpeg movie type specified. Choose a different ffmpeg container or
lower framerate.

[1:ml1] [ERR] [ENC] ffmpeg_open: Could not get codec!

[1:ml1] [ERR] [EVT] event_ffmpeg_newfile: Error opening context for movie
output.

So what can I do about it? Already searched stuff up but I couldn't find
anything about it.

Is there a list anywhere of compatible cameras? I currently don't have any
cameras and want to know what's compatible before I buy.

If anyone wants to recommend a good, cheap, wide-angle IP camera that'd also be
helpful

Thank you

Hi,

I use d'link cams for the most part. I have dcs-930l and dcs-934l models
currently.

You may find more info here:

Best regards

The link would only be applicable if you are using a version of Motion
less than 4.0.? (Debian Wheezy? /? Ubuntu 14.04 and prior)

Versions 4.0 and after support RTSP which is almost universally provided
by IP cameras.? So in addition to looking for an RTSP feed from the
camera, I'd recommend looking for ones that have a dual stream and NOT
wireless.? PTZ cameras are theoretically supported but would require a
lot of extra work and script writing in order to function.? POE can also
make the installation easier. After that you have to determine what is
most appropriate for your particular implementation and budget.

An earlier reply from Joseph indicated he had good experiences with
Reolink whereas I've purchased numerous discount cameras from overseas.

If you are looking to use a V4L2 device, I would say stick with the name
brands like Logitech (Other than the C920)
