Subject: [Motion-user] Motion tuning guide? Missing some large objects

Have set up motion on a Pi 2 with a logitech web cam. It works well except
it generates a lot of false triggers and misses a few large objects. Set
it to show change number on frame captured and adjusted threshold. I set
the motion frames to 3 to try to reduce the false triggers and also use a
mask to eliminate areas outside the area of interest. Still have issues.
Is there a way to see several frames around the event and the amount of
motion it measures? It would be very helpful if there was a guide or cliff
notes to tuning - some way to get a view of what was actually happening
rather than just guessing and trying adjustment of various settings. Maybe
there is such a guide and I missed it. I think some of the false detection
is wind or light changes but it missed a FedEx van recently. I checked the
loading on the processor and it seems reasonable. Pops up to about 20% for
a few samples when motion is detected but I was just using 'top' and there
may be a better way.
