I'm using a Logitech C270 usb cam.

Is it possible to capture night time low light star movement and
meteors, etc.?

Is yes, then what config settings allow you to do this?

Thanks.
Martin

If you disable motion detection, picture and video save, and only enable
timelapse - you can record star movements
But you can also run a bash script that captures a picture at given rate
and then create a movie using ffmpeg command if you only need timelapse.
This would give you better picture quality, as motion performs re-compress
during timelapse save

Hello everyone :-)

I'm playing with my new Raspberry Pi and motion. Got it all to work very
nicely.

My question: is there a setting that would allow me to simply watch the
live stream from remote (like, say, the current weather conditions) WITHOUT
motion saving so many (or any, ideally) images or videos to my little
SD-card?

Thank you and all the best,
Stefan

I wonder if something like this might be helpful:
