The original was Jeroen, And then Folkert took over. And then I with a stong community writing most of the code. And now Mr Dave. And the best advice I can give to Mr Dave is - if you find yourself in the situation where you cannot put the effort into the project you really want to ... pass it on to someone else much faster than I did. I should have asked for someone to take over 2 years earlier. But it is hard to let go of your baby. Nothing to be sad about. Mr Dave and a strong team of new developers and supporters here are doing a great job. This is the strength of open source. A commercial project would have been killed by some corporate bloke in a suit. A project like Motion lives on with new generations to blow life into it. And to the whole community here on the mailing list. I always had ONE principle for the mailing list. The Motion mailing list was to be the friendliest mailing list on the Internet. It was to be the mailing list where noone bitch at anyone, where newbies that have not yet read all the documentation are welcome, and where a good atmosphere is more important than how you quote previous posts or how you ask. Smile when you type!. And even though I am not reading the list every day, I can see that the same spirit is still here. The Motion mailing list is still the friendliest mailing list on the Internet. And I sincerely thank you ALL for that.
