The unit was using bootlegged software which was rife with security holes, so be careful. https://www.securityweek.com/multiple-vulnerabilities-found-popular-ip-cameras Not saying what I eventually bought was pristine, but I have had good luck with SV3C cameras with POE and H.265 codec support from Amazon. I set the URL to be a standard VGA resolution on stream0, and the high res URL to be on stream1. netcam_url rtsp://192.168.10.128:554/stream1 netcam_highres rtsp://192.168.10.128:554/stream0 I set "movie_passthrough on" and I used a pgm file to mask out the time displayed by the camera to avoid false triggers (the camera supplied timestamp looks better than the timestamp from motion). My CPU use on a fanless brick type unit is under 2% for two cameras. No password seems to be used or necessary for rtsp. As I was advised on this list I am careful to match the frame rate for the low res URL to the rate the camera is set to. We are in a remote location with NO external / cloud service. Purchased a GoPro to use, but the WiFi they use only uses their app in full 4K, and it?s not real stand alone; it apparently synchronizes with their web. I was told it?s low resolution video only even on the older GoPro?s. Can you not get an ethernet cable over and use Power over Ethernet? PoE works up to 100 metres.
