I'm using motion 4.2.2. in a Ubuntu docker container and almost
everything is working finde except for displaying recorded videos via
web-browser. I'm using a mac with firefox and safari, both with no access.
The files are stored in a simple Apache2 webserver to be accessed via URL.
Regardless to which codec I use (I thought mp4 should do it) I cannot
stream the video when accessing it via browser. Its displayed with "no
video with supported format and MIMI-type found" (in Firefox). In Safari I
get a play button which is not working. Any hints highly appreciated as I
use motion for years now but am struggling with this since the beginning.

What could be the problem?

>I embedded the videos on a html page in a <video> tag. Neither this nor
accessing the file itself works.
>When accessing the video stream via xxx/?action=stream is works perfect.
>When I upload a mp4 from an other website it works.
>When I view the video file using VLC it also works.
