Re: fast movement detection (David Powell) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Message: 1 Date: Mon, 11 Jan 2021 19:47:15 +0000 From: Richard Bown <rich...@g8jvm.com> To: Motion discussion list <motion-user@lists.sourceforge.net> Subject: [Motion-user] fast movement detection Message-ID: <af25fb2b-144b-93cd-faf7-300f90489...@g8jvm.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8; format=flowed Fast movement detection is a problem at night with moths attracted to the LEDs on the cameras I've tried increasing the number of frames movement is detected up to 10, but at that setting me wandering under the camera at about 5mtrs range is ignored , yet the moths still trigger motion. The older cams dont give so much of a problems as the light level from the LEDs is lower. Are there any settings which will cause motion to ignore rapid movement , ie an insect flying in front of the cam, yet still trigger on a small mammal, cat, dog, etc 4~5 mtrs away, Or maybe delete video files less than 500K , the frame rate from the cam is 25/sec, At night is like watching an image through a meteor shower. I haven't been able to do much about car lights, I have the same problem. The moths will be attracted to it instead of the camera.
