Re: motionplus bug and issues switching from motion (Stewart Andreason) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Message: 1 Date: Sat, 3 Aug 2024 20:12:21 -0700 From: Stewart Andreason <sandrea...@gmail.com> To: Motion-user@lists.sourceforge.net Subject: Re: [Motion-user] motionplus bug and issues switching from motion Message-ID: <a4d64cbc-81d7-447b-92aa-bd701ac16...@gmail.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8; format=flowed Follow up, I spent hours writing code to mimic the POST packet, but could not get it to accept changes to config. The use case motionplus does not work with, is when a PTZ camera is to be moved, I first send from my text window, a pause to motion, send the call to the camera, wait for movement to finish and focus, change the mask and text overlays, sending those changes to motion, and then unpause motion. This version of motionplus seems to only work with the html web interface using javascript. I can not automate it without completely mimicing the loading of pages and sending fake clicks. I don't see any way to get the status of motion; Is it running?, paused? When clicking on pause and unpause in the webcontrol page, I don't see a POST being sent, but instead only SSH packets show up in wireshark. I can't mimic that. If motion loses the ability to accept GET by http request, then it will not be usable. I hope I overlooked something... but at this point, this is my report. Over to you Dave.
