On Saturday afternoon: I found HERMIT THRUSH and RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH at Great River Bluffs State Park near Dakota in southern Winona County. The nuthatch is starting to get late for this area. The hermit thrush was in piney uplands, and was feeding on sumac berries.
In farm country, there was one RED-HEADED WOODPECKER. At a marsh along U.S. Highway 61 just southeast of Winona near Homer, there were six GREAT EGRETS. Regards, Jeff Dankert 908 Parks Ave Apt 158 Winona MN 55987-5330 (507) 454-0033 [email protected]
