I have been seeing and hearing Loons on a small lake in Little Canada, = just southwest of the 694/35E interchange. Have not seen chicks yet.

Nothing especially=20 noteworthy, but I did see a pair Common Loons, one bearing a black chick = on=20 her[?] back, in Pool 6. How common are nesting loons this far south? Does anyone know their=20 current southern limit? "Birds in Minnesota" mentions that they nest as far south as Scott = County,=20 but that was in the mid 80s. -- Paul Lender =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D Paul A.
