Hey, gang: The two trumpeter swans that have been visiting Lake Como in Como Park in St. Paul's northwest corner, were visible again today. They were sitting on the now-iced over lake and I had some qualms about their continued presence. 'Are they ok? Is it time to call the DNR'? I wondered. Then suddenly they both stood, honked quietly and took to the air. Both swans flew gracefully around the outer edge of the lake, then settled back down, as if to say, "No one has to be calling any authorities, we're just fine!"
So there you have it, Val Cunningham St. Paul, Minn.
