Today I received a report of a Spotted Towhee that has been coming daily to a feeder near Cook, in northern St. Louis County since before Thanksgiving. Print photos were taken of the bird in January and were apparently mailed to Bob Janssen this week, who confirmed the ID today.
The homeowners are very open to having visitors, but they would like people to call ahead of time. The bird is not visible from the road and has to be viewed from inside the house. Their names are Cedric and Eunice Roivanen and their phone # is 218-666-5318. They are about a mile and a half west of Cook, at 9774 Wein Road (CR 500). This is within 10 miles of the Northern Hawk Owls that have recently been seen near MN Hwy 73. Jim Lind
