73 species observed in central MN (Mille Lacs & Sherburne Counties) this week. Highlights:
* Pacific Loons (one seen well, one probable) - Mille Lacs Lake. Still wondering about four very distant small loons also seen together - could not resolve details well enough for firm ID. * 12 sparrow species, including first Tree Sparrows of fall (winter?) - however, Juncos have replaced most other species in the last couple of days * Six hawk species, including double digit Bald Eagle sightings * Waterfowl numbers still light (10 total species). Request: will the person who observed the Townsend's Solitaire yesterday in Mille Lacs County please send me a few location details? This would be a county bird. Thanks!
