I took a swing through Lake Vadnais in Snail Lake Regional Park in Vadnais Heights over my lunch hour and the Trumpeter Swan family is still on the lake. They were on the east side of Sucker Lake Road. (Take 694 to Rice Street, Go North on Rice Street; Turn right on Vadnais Blvd; go about 1/4 to 1/2 mile and turn left on Sucker Lake Road - it is one way street that runs between the lakes.) Also present many ring-necked ducks, mallards, coot and one beautiful male Hooded Merganser. The biggest thrill was a gorgeous 8 or 10 point buck that walked right beside my car and then headed down the road in front of me.
